Asalamualaikum dear readers!

I think it is still not too late to wish you all a ‘Happy Eidul Fitri’ as we are still in the month of syawal.

How are you doing out there? I hope you are all healthy and fine under Allah’s protection.

As for me, I have been busy for the past 3 weeks and only now that I have the time to sit in this chair in-front of my beloved pc.

Surely you can understand why my blog is outdated and full of dust.

How are your Eidul Fitri celebration?

Mine  are tiring and hectic!!. The first and second of syawal are my fathers ‘Open House’ day.  As usual, as in the past years, I am the one who have to handle the function. Everything including the food.

Oooo please do not jump to any assumption!, I am not alone! Every body give their hands. My sisters in law did their share in preparing the dishes. As a matter of fact my youngest sister in law did most of the cooking because she  obviously cooks better than me. Cooking is not my specialty any way!. My children and my youngest brother help with the setting and presentation. Everything when smoothly as plan. My father’s chick to chick smile drain away our tiredness. All the hard work were paid by his lit up and brimming face. Indeed! everything we did is only to make him happy. ‘We love you so much father’

On the first day we serve chicken satay[2000 sticks] and its compliments which are peanuts gravy.slices of cucumbers and compressed rice [ketupat], beef soup for mee soup and bee hoon soup[kedah style!], beef dendeng[an Indonesian dish cooked by my second brother] and vegetable pecal [another Indonesian dish].  and we make 2 large buckets of orange juice and rose syrup in ice for the drink. There are also some biscuits to nibble while chatting. Guest came streaming in and out from as early as after solat sunat eidul fitri until after isya’. My sisters and her families  who came in the afternoon took charge too. After Isya’ my youngest brother and his wife with me and my third son and my youngest daughter escape to visit our uncles. And that night I slept like a log!.

On the second day we serve the another half of the satay [2000 sticks too] and its compliments and my sister prepared a dish call ‘masak lodeh’ to be eaten with the compressed rice. There are also pecal and beef dendeng and my youngest sister make fried noodles. Me? emmm I am the food taster and praiser because I am obviously better in eating than cooking!.And my comment is ‘You all are a hotel standard cheff’ bravo!! and well done every one!!

On the first open day. the guests were mostly villagers and near by relatives but on the second day, they were relatives from afar but from around selangor he…he…he… not that far though!.

Whoever comes on the third day and so on are still be very much welcome  and well treated to but regretfully there is no heavy meals just varieties of delicious biscuits and beverages but you are most welcome by all means,  from the bottom of our heart.

Thank you everyone for making my father happy.Only Allah the only one that could repay you, And He pays better!!

Bye and wasallam
